Unless the food is safe, proper nutrition is difficult if not impossible. This has led to the new legislation - Food safety and Standards Act - 2006, Likely to come in force from Jan. 2008.


About the Author
S.N. Mahindru (b.1930) he did his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from Delhi University in 1954 and Fellow of Institution of Chemistry (India) in 1978. He has vast experience in the area of quality Assurance and Food Laws. He worked as Chief Chemist, Regional Agmark Laboratories of Govt. of India for 34 Years.
